Shipping rate changes + Priority Mail International

Monday, May 12th, 2008

As of today, Monday, May 12th, 2008, the United States Postal Service has increased its postal rates, primarily on international packages. DocAngst.com is changing its shipping calculations in several ways to keep up with the changes.

A quick and incomplete summary of how this affects you, the customer:

  • Insurance and Registered Mail rates increase
  • Priority Mail and Express Mail rates increase
  • Priority Mail option now available for international customers
  • Priority Mail and Express Mail shipping charges are no longer “additional charges,” but are flat fees for choosing the shipping method.
  • “Dimensional weight” calculations are now removed, as rigid padded envelopes (those containing top-loader card sleeves) are charged at the parcel rate regardless of weight or thickness.
  • Free normal (First Class) shipping is still available, but now requires an order of $50.00 or more for domestic packages, and $100.00 or more for international packages.

Ultimate Clan Pack cards now in stock

Saturday, May 3rd, 2008

The first three clans’ Ultimate Clan Pack cards (not available in stores) are now in stock and ready for purchase. The clans featured are Crab, Mantis, and Scorpion. Because these cards were released simultaneously with the Clan of the Month Dojo Days promotion from AEG, and have the CotM expansion abbreviation on the card, they will be listed under the “Clan of the Month” (CotM) expansion on this site.

Customer demand has finally made these available: promotional Samurai Edition full bleed strongholds! We currently have full bleed versions of all eighteen base Samurai Edition strongholds in stock.

Some notes on Samurai Edition: Banzai (now in stock)

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

Samurai Edition: Banzai cards are now in stock and ready for you to order. This edition is largely a reprint of the Samurai Edition base set, and since cards on the common, uncommon, and regular rare sheets are indistinguishable between editions (even down to the “© 2007 AEG” line at the bottom of the card), those cards will not be listed.

However, Banzai includes a set of rares reprinted from earlier expansions, including some of the best power cards which have been hard to find during this tournament season. These are listed with their original expansion abbreviation (“KD” for a reprinted Khan’s Defiance rare, for example), and a 2008 copyright date. These reprinted rares are searchable as rare cards in Banzai. Additionally, the fixed sheet containing Strongholds, champion Personalities, etc. includes some MRPs (Most Recent Printings) of cards from Samurai, and has thus been updated with a 2008 copyright date. These are searchable as fixed cards in Banzai.

Since it is now the middle of Kotei season, we recognize that customers will want to receive their items quickly, in time for tournaments. For domestic customers, we offer Priority Mail and Express Mail options in addition to normal First Class. For international customers, our expedited shipping options are not built into the site, but if you have any such needs, feel free to contact us ahead of time.
